Two Sisters Vineyards, an award-winning Niagara-on-the-Lake winery, was officially founded in 2014, although founder Benny Marotta harvested the first grapes there in 2010. Marotta’s two daughters, Angela Marotta-Paolicelli and Melissa Marotta, operate the winery. The winery has four vineyards:
Two Sisters Vineyards came to pass when Marotta, also founder and CEO of Solmar Development Corp., bought and consolidated several acres of peach farms and turned them into vineyards.
Two Sisters crafts super premium wines and has received two major international awards. The prestigious Chardonnay du Monde competition in France awarded Two Sisters’ Chardonnay a gold medal. The World Sparkling Wine Championship in the United Kingdom also awarded its sparkling wine a gold medal. The vineyard grows several varietals, including Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Chardonnay, Riesling, and Sauvignon Blanc. The winery also has an ultra-premium label, Stone Eagle, and will be adding a second winery location known as Stone Eagle Winery soon.
Two Sisters Vineyards also features a dining room on its premises. KITCHEN76 showcases produce from local farmers and the family farm. It also features a rustic Italian menu that is designed to complement the wines.
